Bachelor of science (Renal Dialysis Technology) or BSc Renal Dialysis Technology is a 3 year UG degree in paramedical sciences. The program is designed to prepare students to handle hemodialysis treatments to patients with renal failure under the supervision of a nurse or physician.
This course includes in depth instruction in basic anatomy and physiology, dialysis preparation, dialysis prescription interpretation, extracorporeal circuit and dialyzer set-up and maintenance, patient preparation, equipment monitoring, venipuncture and local anesthesia administration, taking vital signs, documentation and communication, safety and sanitation, emergency intervention, and professional standards and ethics.

About BSc in Renal Dialysis Technology
It is a branch of paramedical science which deals with the study of the process of treating and removing excess water, solutes, and toxins from the blood of patients whose kidneys can no longer perform normal functions clearly. This is also termed as Renal Replacement Therapy. Renal Dialysis Technology balances specialties like cardiac care technology, respiratory care technology, dialysis technology, imaging sciences technology, clinical medical lab, among others. The course prepares candidates to administer hemodialysis treatments for patients with renal failure, under the governance of a nurse or physician.
Eligibility Criteria
Students who are interested in Renal Dialysis Technology must have cleared 12th (PUC) (Science) from a recognized board. They must have minimum aggregate of 45% or more with the core subject Physics, Chemistry & Biology.
