Post-Matric Scholarship for ST Students

This is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme implemented through States/UTs who are responsible for Inviting applications from students online through State Portal or National Scholarship Portal, check eligibility verification and disbursement of scholarship to eligible ST students directly to their bank accounts through DBT. Funds are released by this Ministry to the State Governments/UTs based on their proposal comprising of Statement of Expenditure, Furnishing of Utilization Certificate and Uploading of beneficiary data on DBT Portal.

SIR C.V. RAMAN SCHOLARSHIP

->> Students should be are meritorious, talented, and are pursuing a Science stream in Degree courses (Bachelor of Science).
->> The I year B.Sc. students who are studying pursuing science and have chosen at least two basic Science subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Geology, Botany and Zoology are eligible to apply for this scholarship
->> Every year, Government of Karnataka is sanctioning the Grants/Amounts with regard to the ongoing schemes under the Beneficiary, student gets Rs.5,000-00 per Annum under this scholarship.
->> Students belonging to the General category should have secured 65% marks and SC & ST Students should have secured 60% marks in the previous exam.
->> The student should have passed the previous examination in the First Attempt.
->> If the beneficiary students discontinue the College after getting the Scholarship under this Scheme or if the student has less attendance, the sanctioned amount must recover from the Student while issuing the Transfer Certificate and be returned to the Government through Challan. Otherwise, the Amount should be recovered from the Principal.
->> Once the student receives this Scholarship, he/she should maintain 60% Marks in all semesters. Otherwise, the student will not be eligible to get the scholarship in the
next year.

Kitttur Rani Chennamma Puraskar Scholarship

->> This Scheme is open to 10 Girls students in each District of Karnataka. Those girls students who have secured a high percentage of marks and who hail from families that possess us BPL Card.
->> Girls students who obtained 80% & above marks in PUC studying in Government & Aided Pre-University Colleges are eligible to apply for this scholarship.
->> The Director, Pre-University Board must send the Districtwide list of Girl students who have obtained the highest marks in PUC to District Deputy Directors of Pre-University.
->> The District Deputy Directors of the Pre-University Board should obtain the details pertaining to students from BPL families, whose names are included in the list sent by the Director, Pre-University Board, and who have secured more than 80% marks in the II PU examination, from the principals of colleges from where the student hasvcompleted II PUC (the copy of computerized Photo certifying that the student hails
from a BPL family or copy of a computerized ration card coupon).

MHRD Scholarship

Students who have completed or are about to complete their undergraduate/ postgraduate degree can apply to the MHRD commonwealth scholarship. They should have scored a minimum of 65% marks in Science and 60% in Social Science. The applicant should not be more than 40 years of age.

EX-SERVICEMEN WELFARE

The ‘Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme (PMSS)’ ’ is being implemented to encourage technical and post-graduate education for the widows and wards of the deceased/ex-service personnel of Armed Forces. The scheme is funded out of National Defence Fund administered by Prime Minister’s Office. Scholarships are available for education at various technical institutions (medical, dental, veterinary, engineering, MBA, MCA and other equivalent technical institutions having AICTE/UGC approval).

The Scheme was introduced in 2006. Five thousand five hundred (5500) scholarships are being awarded annually under this scheme. The amount of scholarships was Rs.2,000/- for boys and Rs.2,250/- for the girls per month and is paid annually. This has now been increased to Rs.2,500/- per month for boys and Rs.3,000/- per month for girls w.e.f. FY 2019-20. The payment is made through ECS into the bank account of the selected students. The scheme migrated from offline to online mode with effect from Academic Year 2016-17.

Merit-cum-Means Scholarship Scheme

The objective of the Scheme is to provide financial assistance to the poor and meritorious students belonging to minority communities to enable them to pursue professional and technical courses.

The scholarship is to be awarded for studies in India in a Government or private institution, selected and notified in a transparent manner by the State Government/Union Territory Administration concerned. It will cover technical and professional courses at the undergraduate and post-graduate levels.

ARIVU Scheme

Religious minority students who are desirous for pursuing professional courses like Medical(Max: Rs.2.00lakhs), Engineering, Dental &other courses(Max; Rs.30,000/-) selected through CET/NEET only can apply for Loan Assistance during 2020-21.

The State Government through the Directorate of Minorities have introduced a scheme for providing financial assistance to Minority students of Karnataka State for pursuing higher studies aboard in Master Degree, Ph.D and Post Doctoral Courses etc., in prestigious Foreign Universities.

Sitaram Jindal Scholarship is organized by the Jindal foundation for all 11th to pg students. It is a merit cum means a type of scholarship. This Jindal scholarship for PUC students comes every year. Even, ITI, diploma, Pharmacy, BE, Medical students can also participate in it. Most importantly, students can participate in this scholarship through both online and offline mode.

Dhirubhai Ambani Foundation Scholarship for Physically Challenged Students

Dhirubhai Ambani Foundation has instituted the ‘Dhirubhai Ambani Undergraduate Scholarship Scheme’ to be awarded to five physically challenged meritorious students from the Higher Secondary Boards in the respective states every year to encourage and empower them socially and financially. Dhirubhai Ambani Foundation Scholarship for Physically Challenged Students is applicable for plus two students who have secured highest marks in the physically challenged category in Std.XII exam of the corresponding State Board conducted in.
